Waffle

A waffle is a dish made from leavened batter or dough that is cooked between two plates that are patterned to give a characteristic size, shape and surface impression. There are many variations based on the type of waffle iron and recipe used. Waffles are eaten throughout the world, particularly in Belgium, which has over a dozen regional varieties. Waffles may be made fresh or simply heated after having been commercially precooked and frozen.

Did you know you could bake waffles in the oven? Great for people (like me) who don't own a waffle iron. Here's a healthy recipe to try it out with! Ingredients: - 8 tbsp fat-free Greek yogurt (1/2 cup) - 2 eggs - 3 tbsp splenda (I used 2 tbsp stevia) - 6 tbsp corn starch - 1 tsp baking powder - 4 tbsp powdered skim milk - 1 tbsp orange blossom water

Red Velvet Waffles with Cream Cheese Syrup

Is there such a thing as a waffle coma? This might send me into one. But oh my gosh, it looks so good. Ingredients: 1/2 cup + 3 tablespoons flour 1/4 cup cornstarch 1 tablespoon cocoa 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/8 teaspoon espresso powder (optional) 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar 1 cup buttermilk 1/3 cup oil (I used vegetable oil) 1 egg 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/4 teaspoon red food coloring
