It is generally agreed upon by the scientific community that each star in the sky is a different galaxy, the same way our "Sun" here in the Milky Way galaxy is classified as a star. The popular conjecture, also, is that there are hundreds billions of galaxies in the entire universe (as estimated by the Hubble Telescope), each of which has its own set of planets. It is extremely plausible that out of those billions of planets, there is intelligent life out there that is far more technologically advanced than humans, and that they have in fact visited our planet.
