I have Ulcerative Colitis and I've found it's not a very common disease. If you're looking to meet others with UC or Crohns disease www.ccfa.org is a great place to look, they have walks to raise money and awareness as well as camps for kids with Crohns and Colitis to go to. I went to one of the camps for five years and it was one of the best decisions I've made. I made life long friends there and when I'm in a flare it's great being able to talk to someone who can relate!

My sister suffers from Crohn's disease, a disorder similar to ulcerative colitis. If you have felt pain in you rectal area, or suffer from irregularities, please see your doctor. You would not want to have sections of your digestive system removed. The inflammation in my sister's large intestine has been so bad at times that she needed 20-cm sections surgically removed. Get the facts about this painful, embarrassing disease and support research for Crohn's and colitis at www.ccfa.org
