Tooth fairy

The Tooth Fairy is a fantasy figure of early childhood in Western and Western-influenced cultures. The folklore states that when children lose one of their baby teeth, they should place it underneath their pillow and the Tooth Fairy will visit while they sleep, replacing the lost tooth with a small payment.

What I found so interesting about this article is that people in medieval Europe thought that if witches were to get a hold of the childrens teeth they could control the child so they would burn or bury the teeth. This i partially how the modern day tooth fairy came about. kinda creepy if you think about it.

This is a link to a DIY for a pillow with a tooth pocket for kids to put their tooth in while they wait for the tooth fairy. I find this absolutely adorable!
