The History Channel Short Series has an enormous amount of information. It also talks about Theodore Roosevelt. On the website, "Rockefeller, Carnegie and Morgan team up to help elect William McKinley to the U.S. presidency by paying for his 1896 campaign, to avoid a possible attack on monopolies. However, fate intervenes when McKinley is suddenly assassinated, and vice-president Theodore Roosevelt assumes the presidency and promptly begins dissolving monopolies and trusts in America." The episode is also on the website.

A recording of Theodore Roosevelt talking about social and industrial justice. Amazing how views have changed over the decades. Would Roosevelt win on the Republican platform if giving this speech now?

I'm reading an amazing biography on Theodore Roosevelt right now (well, not "right" now...) entitled, "The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt" written by Edmund Morris. It's the first volume in a trilogy that covers the life of this fascinating and remarkable man. For anyone interested in learning more about the 26th President of the United States, I HIGHLY recommend it!
