This game also introduced one of the most beloved, and hated, creatures in the Zelda series. The Cucco, basically a fantasy chicken, was skittish but would summon a flock of its friends to attack any adventurer who stabbed it too many times. The flocks were unstoppable and the player's only hope was to leave the area before its hearts were depleted.
