Texas

Texas (/ˈtɛksəs/, locally /-səz/; Spanish: Texas or Tejas [ˈtexas]) is the second largest state in the United States by both area and population. Geographically located in the South Central region of the country, Texas shares borders with the U.S. states of Louisiana to the east, Arkansas to the northeast, Oklahoma to the north, New Mexico to the west, and the Mexican states of Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo León, and Tamaulipas to the southwest, while the Gulf of Mexico is to the southeast.

'The Alamo' by Brian Reynolds

The Alamo is one of the most important monuments in Texas because had it not been for the Mexican siege on the Alamo by General Santa Anna in 1836, Texas might still be a territory of Mexico. My 6th grandfather, Thomas H. Roberts, defended and died at the Alamo.

Fun activity for the whole family. A zoo you can drive though and the animals come right to your windows where you can feed them. Officals of Glen Rose, nearby town stephenville, and local university Tarleton State work together to keep this non-profit zoo open to the public and providing homes for these animals.
