A fragment of the bridge piece of an ancient stringed instrument was found in the last few years on the Isle of Skye. Based on the shape of this bridge piece, and prior knowledge, researchers built a functioning replica of what the ancient instrument, believed to be akin to the Greek lyre, would have looked like.
