South Africa

South Africa, officially the Republic of South Africa (RSA), is the southernmost country in Africa. It is bounded on the south by of coastline of Southern Africa stretching along the South Atlantic and Indian Oceans; on the north by the neighbouring countries of Namibia, Botswana, and Zimbabwe; and on the east and northeast by Mozambique and Swaziland; and surrounds the kingdom of Lesotho. South Africa is the largest country in Southern Africa and the 25th-largest country in the world by land area and, with close to 56 million people, is the world's 24th-most populous nation. It is the southernmost country on the mainland of the Old World or the Eastern Hemisphere. About 80 percent of South Africans are of Sub-Saharan African ancestry, divided among a variety of ethnic groups speaking different African languages, nine of which have official status. The remaining population consists of Africa's largest communities of African (black), European (white), Asian (Indian), and multiracial (coloured) ancestry.

I am originally from Bloemfontein, South Africa, where it is quite hot and dry. Bloemfontein is approximately five hours away from Johannesburg, or "Joburg," as we like to call it. When considering all of the underlying circumstances in South Africa, I would recommend visiting the southern part of the country not only because of its beauty, but because of the safety that is in place (at least, more so than in other places). In George, specifically, the weather is amazing and the general landscape changes from quite flat to very rugged and mountainous. There are not as many tourists in this area, so it is quiet, for the most part. A great vacation outing besides Sun City in the Noord Transvaal area, I must note, is Glentana.

Cape Town is by far on of the most beautiful placesto see. It is very beach like and is all in all just an amazing vacation area. Pretoria is a dry, very warm place that is also very dangerous at times.
