I don't claim that this article is lying. It is true that many women say sorry before they continue on to their actual comment. My primary point of disagreement is with the claim that saying "sorry" too much is bad. In a culture where the self has enormous (maybe too much) importance and most people act extremely entitled, I see the "sorry" as a form of politeness, as though to say "I realize I'm not the most important person on this earth, but I would like to make this comment" It is a sort of peacemaking word, or at the very least a functional word to introduce a change in discussion/topic. Both men and women should say sorry more.
