Solar energy is going to soon replace fossil fuels as our number one source of energy. Lets not wait to fossil fuels run out before this happens. In my home state of Massachusetts there is a town called Gardner, it is dubbed "the first solar electric neighborhood in the world". It started off as a project when Joan Bok the chairperson of New England Electric the town's utility provider who teamed up Steven Strong an engineer and president of Solar Design Associates. They installed a cluster of photovoltaic installations on a single power distribution line, and the town embraced the plan. It reduced peoples electric bill by setting up pv systems on the roofs of their homes. They now give solar homes tours every year which has visitors from all over the world including Germany and Japan the world's top two producers of photovoltaic electricity today. My state is not the best to utilize the suns infinte energy but other states including the west coast Ca. have the most optimal sun. Lets make California the next Gardner Massachusetts.
