Shooting of Trayvon Martin

On the night of February 26, 2012, in Sanford, Florida, United States, George Zimmerman fatally shot Trayvon Martin, a 17-year-old African American high school student. Zimmerman, a 28-year-old mixed race Hispanic man, was the neighborhood watch coordinator for his gated community where Martin was visiting his relatives at the time of the shooting. Zimmerman shot Martin, who was unarmed, during a physical altercation between the two.

"A Tray Of Justice" Is One Of My Most Heartfelt Poems. I Felt The Pain Of Trayvon Martin's Family, Friends, His Community, And Specifically Our Black Race As A Whole. In My Opinion Ignorance Will Forever Play A Huge Role In The Differences Of All Races. I'm Not Only Speaking For My Race Nor Am I Speaking From The Ignorant Views Of Any Race On This Situation. I Say Boldly, Justice Was Not Served. The Picture Has Been Painted Vividly Throughout History That Justice Has Never Been Served To The Black Race In Any Form. This Poem Is Dedicated To Trayvon Martin, And Myself. It Reminds Me Daily That Slavery Still Exist To This Day. The Only Difference Is We're Bleeding On The Inside. We Fail To Realize That As A Race We Transformed From A Tool To A Weapon. Why Wouldn't The Odds Be Against Us? We Already Have A Hard Time Living. Not Only Because Of The Choices We Make Its The Places That We Were Placed I Could Only Imagine What A Tray Of Justice Would Change.

Trayvon Martin was misinterpret by the media and was not given the justice he and his family deserved. George Zimmerman got off easy and that's far from fair.
