Pygmy marmoset

The pygmy marmoset (Cebuella pygmaea) is a small species of New World monkey native to rainforests of the western Amazon Basin in South America. The species is notable for being the smallest monkey and one of the smallest primates in the world, at just over (Madame Berthe's mouse lemur is smaller). It is generally found in evergreen and river-edge forests and is a gum-feeding specialist, or a gummivore.

I feel in love that first time that I saw a picture of these cuties! But after I did some research, I found out that not only are they expensive to purchase but also expensive to take care of. The average cost to purchase a Pygmy Marmoset is about $3,000 and they suggest that you buy more than one since they are naturally a pack animal. The average upkeep is about $300 a week plus vet care. That is, if you can find a vet close to you that will treat such a small primate!
