Unless you are already employed by a corporation and they are funding your education you do NOT need to go to Pharmacy Technician School. You can easily buy a certification book, study and go take the test. However the test is not easy but its not too difficult with some pharmacy experience and lots of studying. If you choose to enroll in a Pharmacy Tech Program ask the head of the department the job placement rates and the percentage pass of the PTCB, Take the PTCB its the only test that is recognized nationally. Being a Pharmacy Tech is great if you would like to become a Pharm-D but do not waste your semester hours on becoming a tech since you can have your prerequisites done for Pharm-D school in almost the same amount of time.
