Nonprofit organization

A nonprofit organization, also known as a non-business entity, is an organization that has been formed by a group of people in order "to pursue a common not-for-profit goal", that is, to pursue a stated goal without the intention of distributing excess revenue to members or leaders.Smith, David Horton; Stebbins, Robert A.; Dover, Michael A. (2006).

Kiva is such an awesome non-profit! You can scroll through hundreds of fundraisers started by people mostly in third world countries who don't have enough money to start a business or buy something for their business, so they are asking for a loan. When you donate money to their cause, they have a certain amount of time to pay you back, and the money you donated goes right back into your Kiva account for you to loan to someone else! It's a way to just keep giving and giving :)
