Addicted Mice Don't Lack Willpower- They're Bored

A study found that mice, even if given brief opportunities to solve puzzles, are less likely to become addicted to cocaine. This research adds to an increasing body of work suggesting that addiction is a result of living in an unsatisfying environment and also shows that intellectual stimulation is longer-lasting than previously thought. The data suggests that positive learning experiences (even briefly) through education or play in a structured environment can be good for your brain and last a relatively long time too.

A man opened a can of Mountain Dew and claims he found a mouse carcass in his drink. Mountain Dew's owners Pepsi Co brought in experts which stated that this wasn't possible as the mouse would have been completely dissolved in the liquid after 30 days and it had already been 15 months since the can had been made so what he should have seen was just a jelly-like mush. The Explorer Multimedia Inc. YouTube channel recently tested this hypothesis by placing a dead rat in Mountain Dew and it turns out the "experts" at PepsiCo were in fact right.
