American-style hamburgers are becoming the new rage in Lithuania. 5 American-style burger joints have opened in the capital Vilnius (population of 540,000) this year. That's the equivalent of 5 new Lithuanian restaurants opening in Albuquerque. Lithuanians have been known to add food such as feta cheese and caramelized beetroots to their hamburgers! Lithuanians also like their burgers wetter and a bit richer in sauce than the average American. Food blogger Laura Tyrylyte says to Americans that their trying to invent a better burger in her country.
