Falling asleep during class can be detrimental to one's future because of the negative impact it has on achievement. If you are not getting at least 7.5 hours of sleep every night, that could be one cause and one should fix that right away. If you are getting at least 7.5 hours of sleep every night and fall asleep during classes and study hall, are you able to recall any dreams upon awaking or do you feel refreshed? If so, you probably have Narcolepsy and need to see a sleep doctor ASAP for proper diagnosis and treatment! If you fall asleep and don't recall dreams or feel refreshed, you still need to see a sleep doctor because there are other disorders that can cause these types of problems.
