Because she's been so incredibly successful, Joyce Carol Oates is hard to ignore when she's given advice. Now she's encouraging authors to connect with people in the publishing world--and not just in a handshake kind of way.

This is a rather long panel discussion with Joyce Carol Oates, but it's one of the best speaking events by Oates that it's worth sharing. She talks about so much here that reveals her own personality (which she jokes about now having one). She talks about Marilyn Monroe, and free will, and Andy Warhol (and how he vulgarized the image of Marilyn Monroe, which made me cheer), and she just covers so much information you could ever want to know about her. One of the best author panels I've watched.
