Giant panda

The giant panda (Ailuropoda melanoleuca, literally "black and white cat-foot"; , literally "big bear cat"), also known as panda bear or simply panda, is a bear native to south central China. Giant pandas in the wild will occasionally eat other grasses, wild tubers, or even meat in the form of birds, rodents, or carrion. In captivity, they may receive honey, eggs, fish, yams, shrub leaves, oranges, or bananas along with specially prepared food.

What if pandas looked like that? I wouldn't mind honestly, because they would still be quite adorable ^_^

Interestingly, pandas are at risk of going extinct because of their low birth rate. The reason for this is said to be that pandas have a low sex drive. This video seems to prove otherwise and makes one question how zoos should handle panda arousal or lack thereof. Human beings are not the only ones that need to love themselves down.

First Pandas in Memphis, Tennessee

Le Le and Ya Ya were the first pandas in Memphis. On;y 13 zoos in the US have panda exhibits. I remember being in grade school while the exhibit was being build. We drew tons of pictures for the pandas to welcome them. They weren't as energetic as we imagined, but it was an awesome experience! :)
