Get-well card

A get-well card is a greeting card which is sent to someone when they are ill. Their use in the case of chronic and terminal illness is problematic because the patient may not be expected to recover but they may still offer comfort to the invalid.

Get-well Goodies

My boyfriend was diagnosed with a hip-impingement and received arthroscopic surgery at Duke Hospital in early June. Recovery time typically extends six months, but as a healthy 17 year-old boy he was able to practically cut that time in half. We both run for our high school cross-country team, and after a year of tolerating substantial pain, he was able to begin running again in early September. We even got to run our first 5K race together last week in the Run for Hope!
