Mary Kelly is a feminist artist most noted for her Postpartum Documents from the 1970s. This work spanned 5 years and followed her son's developmental milestones from the time he was born. Recording these advancements was a response to domestic labor and the Freudian idea that one's biological makeup determines their place in society. Over time she would determine at what age does her son transition from being totally reliant on her care to the his realization of his own identity and independence.

Little girls should receive just as many toys that encourage building, creation, leadership, competition, and engineering. Not toys focused EXCLUSIVELY on beauty or homemaking skills. Little boys should get homemaking and child-rearing toys as well, since they might be fathers some day. Makes sense to me.

Amazing, no one sees a problem with adult men fantasizing about high school girls. *facepalm* Oh, world, how cruel be you.

I would say that the creator of this video was taking the fembot concept a bit too far, then I realized, I've never seen a robotic/android man SERVE anyone. Yet I've seen female robot after female robot serve. In fact, all of the robotic Siri/voice control voices are feminine.

"The Bechdel test is used to identify gender bias in fiction. A work passes the test if it features at least two women who talk to each other about something other than a man." These are 10 Famous films that surprisingly FAIL the test. In fact, most media does. The world has a way to go before we can claim gender equality. *facepalm*

"Ironic" sexism is still sexism and dangerous. Take note.

Despite women comprising half of the population, they are *often* token characters in an all-male cast or defined by the males in the story by being the girlfriend, love interest, wife, mother, etc. Anita from FeministFrequency points out these examples: Star Trek -- Uhura out of a male captain, male first officer, male weapons specialist, male doctor, etc. Inception -- ONE female member of the Dream Team Muppets -- Ms. Piggy Winnie the Pooh -- Roo's mom. Transformers *facepalm* Smurfs -- one blond, high-heeled female in an all-male Smurf universe. She is the origin of the name for this trope, "The Smurfette Principle" -- Katha Politt's notice of the trope of the token female in programs aimed at young people (or anyone). I'd like to personally add The Avengers, Iron Man, and Spongebob Squarepants Movie (Sandy was not in the main action and Mindy was sexualized). Also related to the token minority characters trope.

Artist Daniel Edwards has created the life-size sculpture titled "L.A. Fertility" -- a cast of a pregnant, naked Kim Kardashian. Although her media exposure is often overwhelming, the comments on this yahoo article are saddening. Kim's pregnant body is called "disgusting," a "sperm bank," among other insulting adjectives. The amount of men a woman sleeps with does not determine her worth or respect as a human being. The weight on a woman's body -- especially caused by a child -- should garner no comments except perhaps genuine concern about her health. Faith in humanity lost.

Indonesia, the host of the 2013 Miss World Pageant, is banning the bikini competition because of local modesty custom. The officials are requiring sarongs. For a country that has rampant child sex trafficking and limited freedom for women, this is quite hypocritical, yet expected. Women should be able to display their bodies without judgment or fear of violence/harassment
