Fan fiction

Fan fiction or fanfiction (also abbreviated to fan fic, fanfic or fic) is fiction about characters or settings from an original work of fiction, created by fans of that work rather than by its creator. It is a popular form of fan labor, particularly since the advent of the Internet.

The content is something I have never read before in my life and it is explicit to warn anyone who reads. This is a band fanfic for Panic! At The Disco but could be for anyone who wants to read. Beware & enjoy!

A fan fiction I wrote

Writing is something I love to do and fan fiction is a way I love to write. I've written tons of fan fictions but here's one of mine that I've posted online which I'm pretty proud of. It's about the boy band Overload if you don't know who they are check them out on Youtube under Overloadmusic.

I love fan fiction it is my guilty pleasure that I do not feel all that guilty about. The link is to an epic fan fiction based off of the characters Piper Chapman and Alex Vause. It has a high rating because it deals with sensitive subject matter but if you are looking for a good story this would be the one!

Most people think writing Fanfiction is dorky or strange... but not me! Fanfiction is actually a really fun way to develop the characters of a novel or movie. I personally have read several Hunger Games fanfics (as they're called to us Fanfiction writers) that have made me reconsider different characters and situations in the HG novels. There are so many amazing authors that deserve to have their works published. Did you know that the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy started out as a Twilight fanfiction??? How cool is that? I'm not a big fan of the series, to be quite honest, but seeing another fanfic author's work grow into something much more is so inspiring. But be warned, watch out for content rating of fanficitons! Some are a little....what's the word? WEIRD!

Archive of Our Own (AO3) is a rapidly growing fanfiction and fanart archive that, while it is still in beta, offers generally more skilled work than FF.net with easier search function than LiveJournal. There is a waiting list for invitations, but they are distributed fairly rapidly and the many extra features the site offers for portraying your work the way you like makes the wait well worth it.
