For many people, diarrhea is just an annoyance we deal with for a few days before it goes away. For others, it's deadly. Every year, 800,000 children in the developing world die due to the effects of diarrhea. It's clear from the small number of deaths in the United States from diarrhea that this is a preventable consequence. So why such large numbers? Saddening.
