Did you know that some people who are hard of hearing or deaf actually have their own culture? Just like we have our culture of Arts or Music they also are able to enjoy these things in their own world. It is so interesting when you think about it, because sometimes we think they are limited to a lot of things, but in fact they have just as much fun or learning abilities as us! It is just a different way of doing things. Some of them even embrace it and are proud to be deaf. Fun fact: They are called "Big D Deaf."

Deafness can be caused by genetics. Also, diseases can causes it. Infection can be caused by it. Some people get it from injury. Some say loud music and loud volume on tv's can cause it. Some people are not deaf in both ears. Some people have it since they were born. Some people get deaf when they are way older. Deaf people sometimes wear hearing aids if it helps.
