Ronaldo came from incredibly poor beginnings in Portugal. He has always been very defendant of himself and of his family. In grade school, he was suspended for throwing a chair at his teacher whom had mocked his family's financial status. Ronaldo is a player that many football fans either love or hate. On the field his is an incredible footballer and deserving of every bit of respect - except for his ego. He tends to have a hint of selfishness that many people look down on, but if we're being real, whoever has the skill that Ronaldo is capable of has the right to do whatever he feels he should on the pitch. He has carried his team to all sorts of victories (whether we're discussing Man U or Real Madrid). He now has scored so many goals that he averages >1/game. Off the field Ronaldo is an incredible person as well. He sold one of his golden boot awards to help kids in africa. He doesn't believe in drinking - as it was the reason his father passed away when Ronaldo was 21. He refuses to get a tattoo, because he tries to donate blood as much as possible and youre not allowed to donate blood if you have a tattoo. He doesn't smoke, because he wants to be the best athlete that he can be. And he is always trying his best to do all that he can and show that he is the best footballer he can be. He received one Ballon d'Or in 2008 and since then has been trying to redeem himself and obtain a second to go along with his original. No matter who you are, and no mater who you support, you cannot say that Ronaldo is not a legend and you are never excited to watch him play. The thrill and feeling that he brings to the pitch every time that he steps on is unlike any other. Every time that he possesses the ball, you get a feeling of threat/ vulnerability that no other player can produce. Ronaldo is a legend and is hands down, one of the greatest footballer of our time, and possibly, one of the greatest ever.
