Christmas

Christmas is an annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, observed most commonly on December 25 A feast central to the Christian liturgical year, it is preceded by the season of Advent or the Nativity Fast and initiates the season of Christmastide, which historically in the West lasts twelve days and culminates on Twelfth Night; in some traditions, Christmastide includes an Octave. Christmas Day is a public holiday in many of the world's nations, is celebrated religiously by a majority of Christians, as well as culturally by many non-Christians, and forms an integral part of the holiday season. In several countries, celebrating Christmas Eve has the main focus rather than Christmas Day.

Here are mine: This is just a guess, but I am going to say there are 20 million houses that put up Christmas decorations in the U.S. (based on a population of 300 million). (N) The average power per house that puts up lights is 1,000 watts. (Pavg) The average family runs their lights for 4 hours a day. (ΔTavg) The average cost for electrical energy is 10 cents per kilowatt*hr. (c). The average household puts up decorations on Dec. 1 and takes them down on Jan. 1 so let’s say the lights are up for 30 days. (nd) You can see that I included variable names for these estimates so that I can write down my calculatio
