Containing China?

With the territorial conflict at the South China Sea, China is becoming more aggressive in asserting its dominance. China is undeniably expanding as a global power, militarily and economically. China's military can effectively threaten its bordering countries and hurt the U.S.'s influence. However, China also has the 2nd largest economy in the world (with an enormous population as well), so hurting China would have significant economic consequences. It isn't very realistic to contain China. Perhaps, as of now, the safest thing to do is to help those neighboring countries economically so that they can become a large enough counter balance/influence to China.

Nature Reclaims Abandoned Chinese Village
