My cat has had many urinary tract problems in the past and bringing him to the vet became expensive. Luckily my family and i found a neat trick to help prevent them. First start by no longer giving your cat hard food. UTI's begin because the cat is not getting enough water. Go onto a strictly wet food diet and mix water into it so its not totally watered down, but watered down enough so it has the consistency of toothpaste. If you must give your cat hard food add lots of water to it so the cathas to drink before eating, and don't give into those Kitty meows or stares. stay strong. UTI's are more common in male cats because there urethra is longer than a females.
