Bugs Bunny's 75th Birthday

Bugs Bunny's first appearance was in the 1940 short The Wild Hare which premiered 75 years ago today. Animator Chuck Jones gave credit to Tex Avery for creating the famed character and within 14 years he is said to have become more popular than Mickey Mouse! There are two possible explanations for the name but either way it likely was named in honor of animator Ben "Bugs" Hardaway.
