This video shows Anderson Silva breaking his leg at UFC 168. Notice how his upper body is solid but his legs look as if he has never attempted any weight resistance training or high impact training. Utilizing high impact training (i.e. running, jump squats, box jumps, etc) is essential for building density in bones to help prevent these type of injuries. Including high impact training lightly breaks down particles of your bones, then over the next day or so, the bones heal themselves and become stronger. Don't forget to implement those types of exercises into your workout routine! Also make sure you get plenty of calcium.
