Eddie Gaedel of the St. Louis Browns, standing at 3'7", went down as the shortest professional baseball player in history after his debut in 1951. Wearing the number 1/8th, Gaedel only played one game with one plate apperance, which resulted in a walk.

That's right I said it, Jackie Robinson was not the first African American to play in the MLB. The first black player in the MLB was a man by the name of Moses Fleetwood Walker. He played just one season but that came 63 years before Robinson.
