Autism spectrum

Autism spectrum, also known as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), describes a range of conditions classified as neurodevelopmental disorders in the DSM-5, published in 2013. Individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder must present two types of symptoms:

  • Deficits in social communication and social interaction
  • Restricted, repetitive patterns of behavior, interests or activities
