These tiny satellites can be made by individuals dedicated enough to build, test, and launch one into space. All you need is a flight control system, power system, communications, and your payload. They are typically 10 x 10 x 10 cm. The cubesat has received a great deal of attention from the aerospace community and they may be the very future of space exploration.
