I'll never forget the day I thought a hot air balloon was going to crash into my neighbor's house. when I told my mom she said that my eyes were tricking me, but I told her that the hot air balloon was going to hit their house. When I finally got her to look she saw the same thing, and quickly got on the phone to call our neighbors. Our neighbor ran out into their yard to see the hot air balloon only about 100 feet above their house. The man in the balloon began to scream, "Is it okay if we land here?" Our neighbor, not knowing what else to say responded, "Sure." And low and behold they landed right in their backyard. These are the kinds of stories that come with living in the middle of nowhere. I still can't believe it happened.

My sister has a parakeet she took off the hands of a man who could no longer take care of it. The man said he was sitting outside his house is Baltimore one day when the parakeet landed on his shoulder. The parakeet is now in our ouse and often imitates car alarms, police sirens, and jack hammers. It's definitely spent it's time in the city. At least I no longer have to drive 45 minutes to get a taste of the city life.

Did you know that on the original typewriters the keys were arranged in a fashion closer to alphabetic order. Unfortunately, this formation of the keys was too easy for the typists and created the keys to jam and break. So someone invented a more complicated system that we still use today. Why haven't we gone back to a simpler keyboard?
