There are a lot of people that don't believe in the wage gap. I hear arguments about it all the time so I'm really glad that BuzzFeed came up with this video. For anyone who doesn't understand a wage gap without this video, it should be easier now.

This video makes me so happy, I wish I could meet this lady in person. Her whole performance is a comedic slap in the face to the patriarchy. *For anyone who doesn't care for her intro statements, the actual dancing begins at 1:50.

When this video started, I didn't like it that much but after around 15 seconds of singing, I realized I love it. It's witty and it's real and every woman who says they aren't a feminist should watch it because this video is undeniable.

I just endured a SeaWorld commercial where they attempt to revive their animal friendly image by defending their animal cruelty with sugar-coated false statements. At the end, they even state "Get the facts. Get your answers at askSeaWord.com" as if there are any facts on that website. They talk about how "they live just as long as whales in the wild" before they refer the viewer to their "fact-based website". In case anyone was wondering, the oldest known killer whale in the wild is 103 years and still living. The average age of killer whales in captivity is below 20 years.

In my high school, we have a "Cultural Diversity" class, and once a year each student in the class has to dress up as a different social archetype. While I have never taken the class myself, I watch people every year as they dress up in the most stereotypical way possible to gauge the reactions of their peers. This post reminds me of those students, but her experiment is much more effective at demonstrating the effects of stereotypes. I think everyone should read this article if not just to get a better understanding of how much a social archetype can make a difference.

The World Without Us

Out of all the images I've seen about the human impact on the environment, this has to be one of my favorites. It has only four words and two pictures but it sends a stronger message than many paragraphs every could.
