What defines art? Most people think of Picasso or Van Gogh, oil paintings and sketches and sculptures. However, there is so much more to art. It goes beyond the limits of what one can do with a piece of paper and a pencil, crayons, ink, or paint. It goes beyond what we can physically mold with our hands. It reaches to acting - painting pictures on a stage with our bodies and dialogue. It goes to music - drawing pictures in the mind that take you places with a song. It stretches itself into dancing - portraying emotions and stories through our bodies. It takes the form in writing - being transported somewhere else through a good story or being dropped into someone's train of thought through an essay. Art is all these things and more. It pushes beyond barriers to help us see things we'd never see in ways we'd don't always see. It's the key that opens the parts of our minds that remain hidden away and untouched until we see, hear, feel, or touch something that unlocks it.

There are so many good songs out there that make us want to sing along...or make our own version of it. When another artist takes a song and performs it themselves, it's called a cover. This particular group - known as Walk Off The Earth - did a cover of Gotye's Somebody That I Used To Know. While some covers sound very similar to the original, there are other artists that like to make the song their own and add their own effects. The use of one guitar between 5 people and great vocals on a popular song are what made this performance so highly rated.

Parkour (AKA Freerunning) is an art form that can basically be described as gymnastics on the go taken to the streets. Parkour artists are incredibly agile. This art form requires not only strength and endurance but balance and grace. Often times, music is used to help the "flow" of the parkour runners as it helps them get into the move fluidly to the music.
