I used charcoal pencils in this drawing. I focus on the lightness and darkness surrounding the glass.

This is a shot I took of Downtown Jacksonville from the Main Street Bridge during the "Light the Night" Walk.

From my point of view, Death Note is a modern (Greek) tragedy. Light Yagami, in this case, is the tragic hero. According to Aristotle, a tragic hero is "eminently good, and just, whose misfortune is brought about not by vice or depravity, but by some error or frailty." I believe every fan can agree that Light's intentions were good. Believing he is justice, Light wanted to get rid of what he considered "filth" from the world. It is a misfortunate that Light had came across the Death Note. If Light did not encountered the Death Note, then his outcome will be way different. But beside his tragic ending, Death Note also encompass another theme of Greek Tragedy. For one, it has the theme of fate versus free will. Was Light's tragic ending due to fate or his free will? Well, I will let you guys pondered on that question.
