He says I’m beautiful he says he’s waited for me he says I’m wonderful I’m everything he wishes he could be Is he feeding lines or is he real? he thinks the 4 letter word proves it all he think his sweet words make me feel but smart girls never fall, never fall He says I’m like a puzzle that he just wants to solve we’re in a never ending slow dance we constantly revolve (around each other, oh) He’s so close, yet so gone and although it feels so right we’re completely wrong my chest is tight With the words you say stuck in it pressing on my heart thinking of the flame in me you’ve lit our choices are so not smart Is he feeding me lines or is he for real? he thinks the 4 letter word proves it all he thinks his sweet words make me feel but smart girls never fall, never fall

As the anger grows The common sense diminishes Everyone starts, But no one really finishes Everything you've said Really didn’t mean anything So the more you talk, The louder I sing All the broken promises, Broke me as well And I still don’t know How I ever fell -Rhea Huggins, 2013

I sit in the dark alone with my thoughts swirling in my mind and memories of you behind my lids why can’t I be the one you find? I’m curled up alone on my bed thinking of the way you touched me with the pillow under my head why can’t I be the one you see? I run my fingertips along the sheets where your presence used to be and you’re smell still lingers why can’t I be the one you need? -Rhea Huggins, 2013

Modest Mouse is still to this day one of my favorite bands. To be honest, their less popular songs are probably the best and they are definitely still catchy, just not catchy in the bop your head and distract yourself type of way. They sing about important topics and real raw emotion. Love it!
