Seen here is Team 5 from the Best Ranger Competition 2013, SSG Anthony Vasquez and SSG Joshua Rolfes of the 4th Infantry Division. This team persevered despite a major set back early on in the competition that froze them in 24th place. Santiago and SFC Timothy S. Briggs of the Ranger Training Brigade.

The Best Ranger Competition was started in 1982 by Dick Leandri. This grueling three-day competition pushes the best two-man teams in the United States Armed Forces to their physical and mental limits. It takes place in Fort Benning, GA, but competitors come from all over the country. Competitors are saluted as some of the best soldiers while the winners are recognized as the most elite serving the United States.
